I know that you probably will not get this but i thought what the hell I will do it anyway. I have followed u as an artist since before “Who knows Jill Scott”. I am passionate about music and the vibe certain music gives me when I am into it spiritually. Anyway, I remember when you performed at Zanzibar downtown Philly. You killed it and you just had a extraordinary voice and WOW @ the range. I thought to myself yeah that lady has talent. You are so blessed and educated and your growth in music motivates me to do what I need to do because you believe in what you do. I know that if I want something badly I have to go for it and how focus I am will determine my hunger for that very thing which is to graduate with a Mechanical Engineering degree from Florida State University to place a career with Lockheed Martin Inc. in Orlando, not to be so specific, LOL. It is and has been a long road but I am running the course.
I am glad to see a sister like you that has grown as an artist and a person. I saw your interview on your web site. I admired your response to the negative comments said about you and turning it into something positive in your music or just telling it like it is and being mature about it, the song is tight. Also, i admire the fact that you are a Black Woman that can move forward and will NOT let hurtful circumstances change you as a person. My mother and family have had the unthinkable happen to use and spit what people say or think we are going to still be who we are and not let the negativity of their actions kill our good spirit. My mother say’s “I want to be able to break the generational curse that is on our Black men today. I can start with my first and only born son.” She is right; I love her dearly to my heart not only for who she is but what she has given me to give to my son someday.
I cannot understand why it is so hard to find someone that will love you back as much as you can love someone. When I heard “Beautifully Human I was so jealous I did not have what you had. I said to myself,” I pray that I find a woman that will love me like that someday. Words cannot describe what I felt hearing that Album. I am getting teary eyed just thinking about it because I was in a place where I thought finding love was impossible and that something was wrong with me. I realized that it was not me that need to be fixed but to just wait and be patient and prepare myself for what i would be blessed with. I am in a stronger place in my life now. I have someone that is very dear to me and that is what makes me emotional because the thought of having something that I thought was impossible is remarkable. Something I heard someone once say “some things can be impossible but doable.” I never knew what that meant until Toyia can in my life. If I hear from you I can save that for a later time, lol. Sitting thinking of “The Jill Experience” Album, I remember when my brother and I would have our stereo system alarm clock come on and it would play “I Gotta Get Up, (Another Day)”, that was one of the most inspirational songs I have heard in Neo-Soul because it just explained all the thing a person did not want to get up and do but its life and get over it and do what you have to do. I still use that song today sometime just to keep me focus along side Amel Larrieux’s “Infinite Possibilities”. Jill even if you don’t get this it is nice just to be able to type my thoughts to a positive, inspirational, motivated, phenomenal African-American woman such as yourself. I loved seeing Jill Scott in concert. I was counting down the days until the album released. On Tuesday(9/25), I was so excited about the new album I thought about purchasing it before I went to work but I decided to make it to work on time and waited until lunch. The store I went to during lunch did not have the special edition so I ordered it. But I could not wait for four days so on my way home from work I stopped in another store and picked it up. My husband (yes he is a fan too-he can have the cd on its way in the mail) and I listened to it all night! We see you every time you come to DC. Your live performances are off the hook. The one I talk about the most is your album release concert for Beautifully Human at the 9:30 Club.
We will be in Vegas while you are there at HOB. I tried to purchase tickets tonight but they do not go on sale until 9/29. I hope to get tickets once they are released. If I don’t see you in Vegas I will definitely see you when you come to DC and on the big screen. DC loves you (:

I know that you probably will not get this but i thought what the hell I will do it anyway. I have followed u as an artist since before “Who knows Jill Scott”. I am passionate about music and the vibe certain music gives me when I am into it spiritually. Anyway, I remember when you performed at Zanzibar downtown Philly. You killed it and you just had a extraordinary voice and WOW @ the range. I thought to myself yeah that lady has talent. You are so blessed and educated and your growth in music motivates me to do what I need to do because you believe in what you do. I know that if I want something badly I have to go for it and how focus I am will determine my hunger for that very thing which is to graduate with a Mechanical Engineering degree from Florida State University to place a career with Lockheed Martin Inc. in Orlando, not to be so specific, LOL. It is and has been a long road but I am running the course.
I am glad to see a sister like you that has grown as an artist and a person. I saw your interview on your web site. I admired your response to the negative comments said about you and turning it into something positive in your music or just telling it like it is and being mature about it, the song is tight. Also, i admire the fact that you are a Black Woman that can move forward and will NOT let hurtful circumstances change you as a person. My mother and family have had the unthinkable happen to use and spit what people say or think we are going to still be who we are and not let the negativity of their actions kill our good spirit. My mother say’s “I want to be able to break the generational curse that is on our Black men today. I can start with my first and only born son.” She is right; I love her dearly to my heart not only for who she is but what she has given me to give to my son someday.
I cannot understand why it is so hard to find someone that will love you back as much as you can love someone. When I heard “Beautifully Human I was so jealous I did not have what you had. I said to myself,” I pray that I find a woman that will love me like that someday. Words cannot describe what I felt hearing that Album. I am getting teary eyed just thinking about it because I was in a place where I thought finding love was impossible and that something was wrong with me. I realized that it was not me that need to be fixed but to just wait and be patient and prepare myself for what i would be blessed with. I am in a stronger place in my life now. I have someone that is very dear to me and that is what makes me emotional because the thought of having something that I thought was impossible is remarkable. Something I heard someone once say “some things can be impossible but doable.” I never knew what that meant until Toyia can in my life. If I hear from you I can save that for a later time, lol. Sitting thinking of “The Jill Experience” Album, I remember when my brother and I would have our stereo system alarm clock come on and it would play “I Gotta Get Up, (Another Day)”, that was one of the most inspirational songs I have heard in Neo-Soul because it just explained all the thing a person did not want to get up and do but its life and get over it and do what you have to do. I still use that song today sometime just to keep me focus along side Amel Larrieux’s “Infinite Possibilities”. Jill even if you don’t get this it is nice just to be able to type my thoughts to a positive, inspirational, motivated, phenomenal African-American woman such as yourself.
