‘Round Midnight
callin on the phone
giving lame reasons
why you’re not at home
she’s already caught on
to the lies
you have no known alibies
singing your sweet lullabies
to someone
other than your wife
why take chances
with your life
didn’t you know
what’s done in the dark
will always come to light
make me understand
why you feel cheating
makes you feel
like a man
disrespecting your woman like that
makes you look less than
human
why play with someone’s heart
when they’ve been there for you from the start
fool
the love you created
is a picture-perfect
work of art
I know you can’t be this dense
why risk a few dollars
for a ho worth less than 15 cents
those tiny seconds of pleasure
will only lead to stormy weather
and it don’t even measure
what you two built together
if it were up to me
i’d rat your ass out
might even do it anonymously
Just so you know
nothing good will come from this
you better hope
your face doesn’t meet her fist.

So I Write……..

His touch
melted the ice
that covered
my heart
the tainted waters
ran down my soul
and collected in pools
that I released with my pen
as i spelled it out
in poetic form
I wrote love songs
and
stanzas of
long verses
and haiku’s
telling all of my love for him
how he became my muse
I used
imageries and word plays
to encrypt
just so he could
decode them with his lips
………..and he always would
I let time
take a back seat
in my mind
and feasted upon
eternity
cause he’d birthed something
within me
that could only be told
with poetry
so i write………

Trust
by RodB

There are many preconceived definitions of the word
Many can say it, but few have really heard
Many are judged by this word according to law
It’s even printed on our money… God help us all
We even set up funds that can even be botched
No matter how you add it up…You can never factor the cost
The cost of truth, honesty, and deeds
Simple enough to find reason to the means???
I thought I knew what this word meant until this special day
I put my value in it but still I was dismayed
So don’t take for granted even if you have added it up
No one can really estimate the value of trust
Such an easy word but few really know its value
So the next time someone says you can count on it being done
Know this one thing.God is the only one whom can claim that
Bar none.
*These poems are the works of the author noted above. If you would like to submit a poem please post one in the Moods Forum. Thank you.

Big Brown Eyes
by Bluemother

Big brown eyes….you LIED.
Said I was your only woman…not your “BIT ON THE SIDE”
Your future, your wife, your lover, your LIFE
Truth is apparently your life was in fact a DOUBLE LIFE.

Big brown eyes….you LIED.
Promised you I was “DOWN TO RIDE.
Your other life, future, wife, lover
with her you made our two children a BROTHER.

Still I remain blinded by your LIES,
Binded by your TIES,
HOLDING on TIGHT,
FOOLED by the highs….

Big brown eyes,
I’m saying my goodbyes,
Walking away,
While I still have my PRIDE.

You can lie,
You can cry,
You can shout,
You can ask WHY?!
Just look in the mirror, into those LIES!
