For The Cheaters

‘Round Midnight
callin on the phone
giving lame reasons
why you’re not at home
she’s already caught on
to the lies
you have no known alibies
singing your sweet lullabies
to someone
other than your wife
why take chances
with your life
didn’t you know
what’s done in the dark
will always come to light
make me understand
why you feel cheating
makes you feel
like a man
disrespecting your woman like that
makes you look less than
human
why play with someone’s heart
when they’ve been there for you from the start
fool
the love you created
is a picture-perfect
work of art
I know you can’t be this dense
why risk a few dollars
for a ho worth less than 15 cents
those tiny seconds of pleasure
will only lead to stormy weather
and it don’t even measure
what you two built together
if it were up to me
i’d rat your ass out
might even do it anonymously
Just so you know
nothing good will come from this
you better hope
your face doesn’t meet her fist.
