Jill Scott Tells Em’ ….

This is a rare Jill moment… but we understand how she must have felt on stage when people were talking up a storm.

It’s too bad that an artist would have to check her audience but it needed to be done. The talking bothered me just watching, if I had paid money for the performance I would have been pissed and called for management to make an anouncement. Seems like those “fans” owe Jilly an apology for disrespecting her craft.
I don’t care what she said she could’ve told them to get the fuck out she was right in telling them off cause they were loud and she was trying to give them valuble info….!!! So iu love it baby
Kudos Jill!!!!
I’m going to see her on Sunday in Atlantic City and I’ma make sure I keep my damn **mouf** shut…lol Jill is a mess..
Preach it mama!
It always amazes me how folk pay upwards of 100.00 to see a performance and talk all the way through it. You have plenty of time to talk afterward over dinner and drinks.
Shut the f*** up! Appropriate and fitting considering the circumstances……….love it.
Hey Alexys,
Joe, I didn’t realize it was some South siders on here from da Chocolate City
Dats hella cool, I was born and raised in DC on da southside. Wassup family!! Man………….Jill be lunchin LOL, she told somebody the same thing at the HOB in L.A.
I’m trying to figure out what took her so long to tell them to shut up. Heck, she was very considerate. For the disrespectful chatter boxes, hopefully it’s a lesson well learned.
jill scott is the truth.only someone with no sense could be talking while the queen is on stage
i just want to say i love your music and i really am inspired by you and i hope to meet you one day. peace and love and may god bless you!
What city was she performing in when this occurred, that may explain everything? I agree with the rest that was so disrespectful. She comes to DMV area 8/2/08. Will be there.
JILL IS THE BEST AND DESERVES EVERYONES RESPECT CAUSE SHE GIVES RESPECT. KEEP PUTTING THEM IN THEIR PLACE GIRL!!!
This was when she was overseas I believe this is at the Montreux Jazz fest…still cracking upat this but as soon as everyone else gets wind of it they’ll be cyber drama about how she was wrong for that and the fans paid to see her so she should but up with any & all their sh*t…I woulda told them the same damn thing had I been there paid my money to see an artists & all I hear is the azzhole(s) next to me running thier damn mouth..
Jill keep doing ya thing Chica & when necessary tell em HOW IT MAKE U FEEL!!! when you tryna give EVERYBODY what they paid for and the rudeness of some folks breaks ya damn concentration…..
People can be so disrespectful. I would have walked off stage. Love u Jill.
Yo! This was too funny! The people were hella loud though. So, they did deserve to be cussed out. I enjoyed the concert here…@ the Chastain Amphitheatre, 7/30. She did her thing as always. She even told us to quiet down b/c the crowd was so loud. She was in the middle of trying to sing “He Loves Me.” She had the Atlanta Symphony behind her..and it was all good. definitely enjoyed myself. However, I was a little disappointed it was shortned because it was a weekday. Even still, I enjoyed myself.
Got this from MediaTakeOut.com today, this is really sad………………….
To the people who are defending Jill’s self-esteem:
If you don’t know her or anything about her personally, beyond what you’ve seen in interviews or heard in her music, you may stand corrected.
Jill went through it with her divorce from Lyzel. She went her separate ways last year with her longtime manager. John is, coincidentally, her drummer. I met everyone in her band and when I met John, prior to him being her “fiance,” he was trying to get @ me. He had a gf at that time and someone put me up on the fact that he should have a collar and leash, not a frohawk.
Jill is on the rebound. She thought she would still be married right now and have children, but what she is on is husband #2, a career that is mediocre but she is not a household name by any means, and a movie role here and there. Her music and her albums are fantastic and she has a beautiful voice, but she also has a sh!tty attitude and she’s been taking her sh!t out on people who have been there since the inception who, despite whatever trials and tribulations she’s going through, still love her and want the best for her.
I wish Jill and John all the best, but in the end, they will only end up with what they deserve.
GOOD FOR YOU JILL! Why do ppl go to shows if their going to talk!? You can talk and chit-chat another time. Why be there in the moment if your not going to REALLY be there!!!!
MAN! Jill Scott is so real. She told them in those calmest way. She did it big no doubt. Now those people will kno “Shut the fuck up when sh’e talking.” hahah! Much Love JIll

Man oh man…………..what can I say!!! This was my 4th time seeing my girl this year. I can honestly say that I am truly blessed to have first had the finances and the resources (GLORY BE TO GOD) to attend these wonderful shows. My sista was f@!kin AWESOME TONITE U HEAR ME!!! She pulls no punches and keeps it so real. I just don’t know what to do. I’m gonna miss her sooooo much when she leaves all those months for Africa. Jill tore the house down yall, and The ROOTS killed it too All I can say is Jill I luv u so much, I pray to GOD one day I will be able to look u in your eyes and say thank you. I’ll continue to wait for that day and that hug!!!
Dang, youtube took it off, I was hoping to see this!

I just saw Jill in Maryland yesterday at the Summer Spirit Festival. I drove 5 hours to get there because I missed her when she came to VA. It was worth the traffic, the gas, and the miles. She was AMAZING. It was truly the best concert I have ever been to. Her voice is so powerful and beautiful. It was like you could feel her spirit. I’m going to go out and buy another copy of The Real Thing tomorrow.
Jill has the patience of a saint and if anyone has seen her perform in the past, you know that this is totally out of character. That said, if you are going to a show and have seats up in the front, have a little respect for the artist up on stage singing her heart out. If you want to text up a storm, or tear someone a new one on your cell, why not give your seat up to someone up in the nosebleed seats who would appreciate the seats more than your ignorant ass! With that said…way to go Jill! Best of luck on the filming and please don’t forget about your fans in Boston!
I can’t believe it! I live in SF and have been waiting and waiting for the chance to hear Miss Scott live. So when I found out she would be at summer stage in NY on August 12th, well you know I bought myself a plane ticket (wasn’t cheap) and called my friends to tell them all know I was coming. So I’m sure you can imagine how very disappointed I was to find out TODAY that her show has been canceled permanently. What happened?! I feel so let down.

XOXOX
RUDYSIA
Hell Yeah!!!!!!!!! People ought to have more respect for themselves and for this woman. How ignorant were they in the middle of a show you talking?!!! They forget that Jill ain’t gonna tolerate disrespect from no one. Kudos Jill. Kudos
that’s my girl ,the real thing. {and she said it with class}
Go ahead Jill, i don’t blame you!!!!! some people dont listen to advice!!!!!! U are right with what u were saying!!!! Jill knows about love and how to be a good wife just benn marrying the wrong guys!!! luv u!!!!
YOU GO GIRL!! Damn skippy – “sometimes disrespect begets disrespect.” I have paid good money for shows only to have some fools who paid the same money (I think) but would rather talk and f*** around instead of enjoying a good show. Jilly, girl, when it needs to be done, it needs to be done. YOU ARE FANTASTIC!! Please come back to Montreal, Quebec, Canada – we love you!
Goddess bless you! Peace and love!
This not a “rare” moment for Jill Scott. A few years back in the ATL she cursed at the audience at Chastain for talking during the show. I just wish she would not curse (using the F-word).
Earlier this year I attended a David Ryan Harris show in Atlanta. He just cut the microphone and sang acappella(sp?) until the audience was totally quiet. It worked great! No cursing needed.
I saw Jill Scott in Cleveland on August 9th. WOW!! What a show!!! The best Jill Scott performance!
My goodness! Jill was so patient with this particular audience. Why were they so rude? She’s very classy I must say. I am a singer as well. Some audiences don’t understand their role..what they do affects the artist. We feed off of them.
You GO JILL!!!
Sayida
I think that Jill correct by checking any rude audience, they should respect her mind and talent.. I love Jill music and i would be upset if i were there also.
I don’t blame Jill for getting a little hot. I was offended that the crowd was so loud and, not listening to what she was trying to share. If I pay my money to see someone, I am most definitely going to be giving them my full attention. How rude can some people be! She handled it quite well considering that some other celebrities would have probably done a lot more than that.
I think I would have stopped the concert and asked them if they were there to talk or to enjoy the concert! I don’t blame her at all!! She had every right to do what she did!!! I just can’t beleive that someone would do that at a Jill Scott concert!!!! Why would someone pay to go to a concert to talk with their friends when they could dot that for free at home!!!!!
Love you Jill, Can’t wait until you come back to Chicago!!!!! Sandy
Baby Queen is right, Jill is know for having a super bad attitude towards her fans, crew, what have you. Its not hating, its true. I remember she almost stopped a show and walked off in Baltimore because somebody was talking. And a friend of said she str8 up got played because when jill was walking off, my friend went to shake her hand and she just looked at her and walked off. This and ive heard more stories than that. Its not hating, its real. My thing is if WE the fans buy your cd and adore you, dont be mean to us. Because just like we made you buy buying the cds the dvds the bras etc, we can also break you by not buying anything at all. All im saying is be nice, be loving just like we give you love at concerts. Be tactful. Dont hate on my comments, its just me being real.
As an vocal artist, I understand… I have been frustrated with audiences before.. Never said the f word but wanted to. I never thought Ms. Scott would have to..
“Shut the fuck up!” LOL! Jill Scott is awesome!
She wont be so awesome if she tells you to shut the fuck up now wont she? LOL
Okay, that was rude as hell. You couldn’t hear her for all the pp talking so damn loud; but Jill was doing her thaing as usual. Look on her face was classic (WHy the HELL did they come and see ME for, I’m not the airport lounge singer!)
Maybe, just maybe, people don’t want to pay to hear her TALK…they pay to hear and see her SING!! Why so much talk, Jilly?
RESPECT IS DO TO A DOG & JILL had every right to say what she said. If they wanted to talk they should have stayed home. An let me said this Jill Scott has never let me down at any of her shows or when i met her in person. It is evident that her MOTHER did a very good job raising her. She could have went off but she kept her composure & remained a lady. She is the only artist i will send my money on to go see. Ms. Jill Scott keep up the good work & don’t change a thing .
she told them right, i would have been mad as hell because people are talking so loud where you cant enjoy yourself, and being my favorite, i would have been extra pissed.

Go head Jill, I’m happy you said that because the talking was annoying me just watching the video so i could image how you felt on stage.
First of all let me say that I love you Miss Jill Scott! You are my Shero lol. I have seen Jill three times now, and everytime it seems like she gets better. Most recently, I saw her at the Chene Park Ampithetre in Detroit, Michigan. She rocked that crowd something fierce baby! She feeds off of positive vibes so I know that she was extremely disturbed by those rude ass individuals at this venue. I mean come on…it takes alot for such a poised woman to lose her cool in the middle of a set! She is only human, and I probably would have done the same thing. They let her know how they felt about her by talking during her performance so she just returned the favor. More power to you Queen. Oh, and to you haters writing hateful words about Jill on here, I say to you, FUCK OFF! It’s one thing to state that you don’t agree with her actions, but another to write personal attacks. Get a life.

Amen Ms.Scott! Disrespect does beget disrespect. Any idiot that would hold a conversation that close to the stage while you (especially you) or any artist during a concert should be escorted out. As usual you handled it with grace you are truly beautifully human!
I sure wish that my bundle of joy, but Jill I wish the best and all of God’s blessings. I know you will be a wonderful mother. You are one of a kind.
Don’t make us wait too long for another, so we could share in all your new life experiences.
Love Laceluv
Dear Jill
You are an inspiration for us all, you touch our heart , soul and mind . you have taking music to another level a level that everyone can related to whether we are happy, sad, glad are just can get enough of something(whatever it may be ). you are truly bless with a special talent from God. I listen to your album everyday it inspiration to me, to be better person and not to be scare of the world and what it offers.
Jill Thank you for following you’re dream because now i am not afraid to follow mine.
This message I send because I don’t want you to make the same mistakes or have the same problems that other Arien women have as they get older. 1. Remember, everybody needs somebody. 2. Learn to express the inner dwellings that no one else knows about. 3. Most important, as the”CHANGE” kicks in, don’t be in denial. Deal with it, and get the necessary help. Please heed these words from a 42 year old man that has been with his Arien woman for nineteen years. Her failure to deal with these things is now costing us our marriage.
I Know That’s Right Jill , Cause If I Was There If You Wouldn’t Have Told Them To Shut Up I Would Of Okay, RESPECT Is The Word!!!!
