   I am truly a fan in every since of the word. Haven’t had many people to be fond of as of late. You are Beautiful to me…my husband shares that sentiment. Pleased to see you on the screen again always a pleasure.

   Hi Jill, Have been a huge fan since I saw you at the Jazz Cafe my first week working there and it was you for 2 nights (friends were so jealous and I was like Who is Jill Scott…then I heard you… fan for life) I was the short haired black waitress (only one there at the time) Was totally star struck by your talent so couldn’t speak to you.

   ANYWAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY have followed your career and loved everything you do including your representation of Ma Ramotswe. It was very strange I had been told to read the book before a trip around Southern Africa, then there was a feature on it in the onflight magazine and there you were nearly had a fit.

   Thought I had missed the screening in UK while I was in Ghana but nope its on this weekend BUT I was given a guest invitation to the pre-screening at the BFI yesterday. It was a strange atmosphere with all these friends and associates of Mr Minghella, but it was lovely to see the book brought to life really well I wondered how it would work but it did.

   In short (after the rambling) I look forward to more… more No1, Seeing you in Why did I get married (I bought what I thought was it on Amazon even advertised your name and Janet etc but it wasn’t the film…loved it all the same very talented man that Mr Perry love the singing) and just to see what you do next.

   Right I think I have finished…yep finished…oh no wait wait… thank you for bringing the kind of music and messages I have needed to hear when I needed it…which reminds me (sorry) at your concert in Shepherds Bush and elsewhere you sang this song that you said was a message from God through you. I love it and would like to get hold of it and the lyrics if possible.

   Now I have seriously finished…for now lol your beautiful in all ways and I am glad your mother is well.

   I was at the Detroit show on 03/21/08:
   We the last song you sang with the crowds help be put on wax and released on your next album? That’s was an amazing track, the live versions are always the best, (smile) though. You should just release the version done in Detroit. Great Song, make it happen Great Scott.

   Oh my goodness! I have just watched The No.1 Ladies’ Detective Agency on the BBC and all I can say is that I’ve been completely blown away by Jill Scott’s performance. What a talented and gifted lady! So inspirational too. I can’t wait for the series to be aired next year.

   Well done Jill, for your part in the recent pilot for No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency.
   The whole program from start to finish was amazing, the cast did a great job, and your part was so real, it also gave us an insight into African culture, traditions and “ways” of doing things over there.
   A big thank you to all the cast, directors, writers and all the people of Botswana who took part.
   The actress who played your sec, was so funny, she was hilarious as she played the role so straight, which made it even funnier.

   It had the right mix of everything and I look to the forth coming series with interest.

   Well done Jill, I think the pilot should be nominated for many awards, “best realistic program” for one.

    Watched your performance last night, in No 1 Ladies Detective Agency. It was a truly amazing performace and inspiring as with everything you do. I felt all warm a fuzzy after watching the film, it was a real feel good performance.

    Jill , congratulations on your performance as P. Ramotswe. Truly, an acting tour de force. The character’s spirit shone through; your accent was superb, as was the mannerisms.
    Not least is the great stylish elegance with which you wear those beautiful print dresses. (I’m in London and already aiming to see if their is an outlet stocking similar). A. Minghella’s direction and photography does huge justice to the actors, the people and the landscape. A tribute to Africa.

    Although the TV film is set in the present day, McCall Smith wrote the books remembering the Botswana of his childhood or as a younger man. He has encapsulated the spirit of simpler times and rural countrypeople everywhere 30, 40 + years ago.

    Can’t wait for the upcoming TV series. Meanwhile it’s a joy to discover this website and yr music. Come back and sing in the UK soon…

    Still waiting for more shows and I would love to see Jill Scott perform live. I have bought all the CD’s or uploaded them(actually I had to have my 8 year old grandson upload them) and I am waiting for my DVD in September. She’s wonderful, the show is wonderful and she has the most beautiful presence and voice. No 1 Ladies Detective Agency has the perfect cast.

    The No.1 Ladies Detective Agency is a fresh and refreshing show that doesn’t rely in gimmicks, but has great acting and a great storyline. I hope that it comes back for many more seasons!!
