I heard you on the Steve Harvey radio show talking about the Butterfly bra and you would be at Stonecrest Mall, Atlanta on May23rd…I was very excited for many reasons, first I’ve always wanted to meet you up close and personal and second I want to introduce myself and tell you about my background as a designer more than 20 years, specializing in bras (plus size to 52K, nursing and mastectomy) I have my own design company in Atlanta area; I work as design contractor for various bra brands. For many years I’ve done fitter training for retailers on How to fit a plus size customer, made patterns and selected fabrics with plus size customer in mind. When I saw the Butterfly bra I wanted to know more ,but more than anything be a part of the development.

Jill, I’m so upset that you did not make more cup sizes in this BRA… Small breasted plus size ladies have the same issue as far as back and side fat over hang is concerned… I was so looking forwarded to buying your bra, but was disappointed to see that there were no B or C cups. Small cups sizes are just as hard to find when you are not proportioned and have a wider back.. It’s interesting to see Monique in your Photo, I’m shaped more like her and she does not look as if she is a D cup. I hope you decided to rethink the size thing sometime in the near future.. Cin

I speak like that (formal) because it feels like I get to know you in listening to your music.Its help me through alot. Me being the tom boy from detroit not really knowing how to be comfortable in being femininie and sexy. I am also not the american standard of beauty (you know the size one just perfect to them) and at first this was a problem for me (not meeting those standard), but now I have my own standards for myself and I am the only one that can set them. I AM BEAUTIFUL. So thank Jill you played a big part in my progression.

I appreciated hearing about your Butterfly Bra and had hopes of there being a fit for me. I heard the sizes start at 38D, however, I would like to see a size 36DDD come out in the near future.

Hey Jill, Your collection is great! Thanks for thinking about the ample breast woman, but you sizes stop at 44DDD. Please thinking about producing larger cups and sizes. I love your music!
I don’t shop Ashley Stewart anymore. The last few times I was in the store I was turned off by EVERYTHING made in China. can you tell me if your bra is manafactured in China? If not I would make a special trip to purchase.

I am surprised that with all the hooplalala about your bras for plus sized women , all that was for sale on concert day was small and extra small t-shirts. Your concert started at 7:30 and at 6:10 there were no more x-large, large or medium t-shirts left. TSK!

I’m a very big fan and I’m looking to the butterfly bra line. I have enjoyed everything that you have done. You’ll be on tour in Houston soon. I’ll be there. I like yourself have a individualistic persona. I love being unique. I am in the process of creating a line of clothing for women like us, you know those with a little more here and there. I love the design of this bra and would like to purchase it, but I need a much larger size the the current DDD. I wear sizes H and I and would like to see this bra in these sizes and I would purchase this bra and become a loyal customer.

I was so excited to hear about ur new plus size bra then, when i looked it up i saw u only go to a DDD. I wear a 42G, and now that i’m pregnant I’m sure I’m not done growing. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make bigger cup sizes. I pay a lotta money for my bras and let me tell u they ain’t Playtex 18hr that’s for sure. I would give just about anything to find a bra that I can wear all day and be comfortable

OK OK OK I HAVE PURCHASED THIS WONDERFUL BUTTERFLY BRA IT SHOULD HAVE A WARNING LABEL ON IT THAT U NEED AN ASSISTANT TO HELP U PUT THIS ISH ON! BY THE TIME I GOT ALL THEM HOOKS FASTENED AND TRIED TO GET IT TURNED AROUND THE RIGHT WAY I WAS SWEATING LIKE CRAZY, HAD STRAINED A FEW MUSCLES, BENT ONE OF THE HOOKS ON THE STRAP AND NEEDED TO GET BACK IN THE SHOWER BECAUSE OF THE WORKOUT OF JUST GETTING IT ON PROPERLY. THE BRA FELT BETTER THAN ANY BRA THAT I OWN AND I HAVE SOME REALLY GOOD ONES BUT UNFORTUNATELY I WONT BE WEARING IT UNLESS I HAVE A HELPER AND I LIVE ALONE FOR NOW. Dear Ashley Stewart & Company:
I was so excited to find out that someone had taken the time and careful consideration to create a bra for women that are not designed for mannequins (of ANY size). Me and 7 of my best friends rushed to the local A.S. store to purchase one in EVERY colour. Imagine our complete & utter disappointment when we were told that the bras were only available for fitting in 5 stores or online! (And guess what? Your store managers are just as mad! You’re ruining their customers’ confidence thus profit margins.)
Here we go again… the run-around being given to plus-size, normal women. What should have been a joyous occasion once again being ruined by corporate America. Anyone that knows anything about women can testify that no pair of breasts – save a pair of 30A – fit in any ONE size of bras. If a woman states she always wears a size yadda-yah bra, she has worn many ill-fitted bras in her lifetime. My point is that all bras run different sizes depending on the stretch of the fabric, construction, manufacturer, etc., even if they are all labelled as size 40C’s. The majority of women – especially plus-sized women – will not purchase a bra sight unseen much less without trying it on for fit. Most women won’t order intimate apparel online UNLESS they’ve tried it before, want more of the same, and find the fit consistent within a certain company OR they have time to waste AND find a company that has a vvvvery liberal return & shipping policy. Even comparing one’s own measurements via measuring tape to what SUPPOSEDLY should fit is a crap shoot.
There are 7 very angry women here that have told their closest friends & relatives and so on (Lousiana, New York, California, Texas, Mississippi, Georgia, Florida, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Hawaii, New Mexico, you get the gist). If this doesn’t mean anything to your company, it should. In the New Orleans area, EVERYone refers to their friends as ‘cousins’. Furthermore, we like to enjoy life – music, food, culture, diversity – in this city, so there are plenty of plus-sized females constituting a potentially huge client base. This holds true for much of the deep South. The bad word of mouth could potentially damage your bottom line across state lines and in ways that you could only begin to imagine.
Your marketing & distribution team should be cleaned out for its ill-conceived concept. Whether it’s the truth or not, the lack of distribution to all of your stores looks – to the average customer – as if women that don’t live in specially-selected cities are not worthy of your product. We really wanted to believe in Ashley Stewart as a company that provided for woman of all sizes, shapes, and backgrounds. It’s beyond comprehension that Jill Scott’s name is associated with this! Jill I just heard about your Butterfly Bra, my sadness is that is only goes to 44DDD, and I happen to be a 46DDD. Do you have plans to make the bras bigger for those of us who are TRULY endowed??
I looked forward to finally getting a bra that would make me look good and a lot neater. I was very disappointed. The underwires are horrible, and it makes you feel like you’re wearing a suit of armor. They are just not comfortable at all. I returned one of them and I took the wires out of the other one while I was at work. It changed the comfort level enormously, and the shape was not altered. It was a great idea, but you need to do more work on it.
