A Personal Review of Jill’s show in Houston

Jill took the stage shortly before 9:30P to a crowd of 600+ lucky fans, and started her set with “The Real Thing” – it was so hot it literally set the fire alarms off! She followed with “Ephiphany” and “The Way”. The show was truly amazing, especially since she performed in front of a full band and horn section – which surprised a lot of people in attendance considering it was a free event. The big songs of the night were definitely “Crown Royal” – which was funny she sang since it was a Bailey’s sponsored show – but in her words “we have to live in the now…and it’s a metaphor song”! Other crowd favorites were “How It Make You Feel” – of course “Hate On Me” and “A Long Walk”. Following a quick break, Jill returned to the stage for an encore performance which included “Golden” and “He Loves Me”.
Following her 1 ½ hour performance, VIP’s were invited to a special room to enjoy more Bailey’s concoctions and a meet-n-greet with Jill. It was a fantastic show…all I can say is I can’t wait until she comes back through Texas again!

I was one of the people who had an opportuntiy to attend the event. I made the 3 hour drive from Austin to see the show (I’ve seen her EVERYTIME she’s been to Texas!). We arrived early, so from her entrance to soundcheck. She walk ed by me, and I had the PLEAURE of being greeted with her signature “hello” to the VIP room where we had the opportunity to talk to and talk pictures with her. She was as lovely as her spirit projects. I PRAY THERE IS ANOTHER SUGAR WATER TOUR, OR SHE RETURNS TO TEXAS on the next leg of her tour in 2008.
Jill Scott . . . I have loved your music since the beginning but this album is the BOMMMMBBBB!!! It is definitely sexy, and erotic, and telling it like it is. . . I have definitely been in this place before . . . You are truly gifted and talented and a DIVA. You play your voice like the instrument that it is. . . .

I am curious about the private concerts, how does one purchase these tickets? I would love to see Jill in concert, will there be any US concerts in 2008?
I love your cd The Real Thing. I have been there. I have a girl friend who is going through some of the same things you song about. I brought the cd for her, so she can start to heal.
Keep up the good work. I also loved you in Tyler Perry’s movie. Great performance and great movie

I dont understand how I missed Jill Scott. What, how…….. How can I attend a private show. I’ve been coming to this website everyday. EVERYDAY!!! And Houston wasnt on here. Im so hurt right now.
( I hope the 2008 Tour has us on it. I was planning to fly to one of the other events for this year before those became private. MAN!!

What exactly are these private performances and why can’t the public be down with them????
Jill, I have always loved your music since the first album and this one sounds just about the best you’ve made yet. I especially like “Crown Royal” It’s like everytime I hear that song, I have to hit repeat on the CD player just to hear it again and again. Keep doing what you do in making great music.

Ms. Scott, I just want to personally thank you for gracing us with your presence in Atlanta on last night (Oct 29th @ the Freight Depot). I’ll be the first to say, if anyone truly loves your music, they will get a real treat whenever you perform live. I can say from personal experience, whenever I see your performances, my soul literally moves when you sing and tell us your stories. You are the Truth and God has given you a talent to share with the world. Thank you again for showing ATL what a real soul singer does when they rock the house! Come back soon! I’ll be there!

My feelings ar sooooooo hurt… I am soooooooo disappointed that I didn’t hear about Ms. Scott’s performance in Houston. I don’t miss her shows at all! I want to know why didn’t I hear about it and how can I be a lucky fan to attend a free concert. I don’t care if it’s free or not, I just don’t want to be left out in cold when she is in town. I want to know every single time she performs in Houston, or even in Texas. I’m a big fan of Ms. Scott’s and my heart is really hurting at the fact that I missed a concert she gave when she was in Houston. I don’t want to miss anymore performances. Please let me know how I can attend her private shows. Thanks
WOW! I was Blessed to be one of the many that attended this event. Jill ROCKED it. When you see her, you see the smile, when you listen, you hear the smile. I love it! I am a true Jill Scott fan and she gets better and better each album! I love The Real Thing! She definitely turned it out with Crown Royal. I hope she comes through Houston again, bc I will PAY to see her ANYTIME!
