Ashley Stewart holds in-store Meet n Greet with Jill Scott
“There were over 300 people, some who had been in line since the mall opened at 10am expecting to meet Jill Scott. Jill appeared upset that she would not have enough time to meet everyone. So she decided to take action and actually walked through the store and out into the mall to make sure she greeted all in line. There appeared to be some very happy and engaged fans…”

What do YOU think about Jill on the show?

Hi Guys,
I wanted to submit my Jill pics. The first was from the Dave Chapelle movie premiere, which I stumbled on by accident, it was right around the corner from my job. I told her at the time, “Whatever Lyzel was doing, tell tell him to keep it up, because you are making beautiful music” Then in October last year, I came to take pics as the stars entered the Why Did I Get Married Premiere and ended up getting shuffled inside accidentally as press, where I was able to mingle with her and the other stars of the movie. I told her that even though her that although her “situation had changed, the music was still the same greatness and she remains the truth!!!” Then I fessed up I told her I wasn’t an invited guest, but got in by accident, she didnt seem to mind and was soooo welcoming and told me to stay a while. I will always love her for that.

Here is another submission from a fan from way back when…

This is me, my cousin Carol Riddick and Jill backstage at the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City. Jill was the most down to earth and funny celeb that i have met. I remember asking her what the 44 meant on her first cd, i remember her telling me it was because of her brithday. She said that she was born on the fourth month of the fourth day. Do ya thing Jill!
A letter from a fan, Marcia:

What are your thoughts on this article? Beyonce calls Turner “The Queen”.
Sounds like a bunch of “Queens” to me. What about Jilly? She is definitely a Queen.
What do YOU Think about these Queens?

Aretha doesn’t like sharing ‘queen’ title
By Edna Gundersen, USA TODAY
The Queen of Soul takes her title very seriously.
Aretha Franklin was royally miffed when Beyoncé referred to Tina Turner as “the queen” during Sunday’s Grammy Awards. The young star recited an homage to music’s great female singers, with Franklin’s name second on a starry list that ended with the exultation “Give it up for the queen!” as Turner descended a staircase. The pair performed a sizzling Proud Mary.
Franklin issued a press release Tuesday objecting to Beyoncé’s queen “quip.”
“I am not sure of whose toes I may have stepped on or whose ego I may have bruised between the Grammy writers and Beyoncé, however, I dismissed it as a cheap shot for controversy,” Franklin said. “In addition to that, I thank the Grammys and the voting academy for my 20th Grammy and love to Beyoncé anyway.”
Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich, noting that Beyoncé idolizes Franklin, says he was baffled.
“It was an innocent remark,” Ehrlich said. “It certainly wasn’t meant to disparage Aretha. Aretha has been and continues to be a very important part of the music industry and transcends labels. That’s why the Recording Academy gave her the honor of MusiCares Person of the Year and invited her to perform on the Grammys.”
Mathew Knowles, Beyoncé’s father and manager, declined to get a comment from his daughter.
“I’m not even going to take this to her,” he said. “Something this ridiculous, it’s childish, it’s unprofessional. And it’s a sad day when egos get bruised because somebody used the word king, queen, prince or princess.”
Jill will be on the radio on KJLH with Stevie Wonder
Hey fans.. this one is for the undecided… She is still wondering if she should go to the Jill Scott Concert…

- Outdoor media campaign launches “Making Black History” Campaign –
February 12, 2008 (Santa Monica, CA) Hidden Beach Recordings is celebrating Black History month this year with an outdoor media campaign in Los Angeles. Timed to maximize industry awareness to coincide with the 50th Anniversary of the Grammy Awards, the outdoor media campaign consists of one dozen 30-sheet billboards in the Hollywood, South-Central, and Crenshaw districts of Los Angeles, as well as the City of Inglewood.
Thornell Jones, Marketing for Hidden Beach says “People often think of History as something from the past. With our campaign, we’re saying that artists and their music which are relevant today will be relevant in the future. Hidden Beach has a commitment to quality music and artists. In a declining marketplace – it’s a notable distinction which sets this label apart, not to mention the fact that Hidden Beach is Black owned and operated.”If you’re in Los Angeles, be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the Billboards making label history.
